The Beauty Products That I Use

I have sensitive skin. I have skin asthma. I am allergic to seafood. I am aging. With my conditions, it is difficult to determine which products are gentle on my skin.

Through the years, I have tried many beauty products. These are the ones that have been good, gentle and effective on my skin. You might like to try them. I am not advertising any product. I am not paid to endorse any product. I am just sharing because it might be beneficial to others who have similar conditions like mine.

I have been using Kiehl’s products for more than 10 years. My sons and I were looking for facial moisturisers at Myer in Melbourne when we saw the Kiehl’s shop with the ‘scientist’ skeleton wearing a laboratory gown on the display. The shop attendants were also wearing lab gowns. For some reason, there is a psychological selling effect of the lab gowns. My second son saw the written sign “Kiehl’s since 1851” and said, “This brand must be good if it is still here after a century.” Good logic. So we bought the first Kiehl’s… and it went on for the past 10 years now.

The Kiehl’s products are good. We buy when they are on special because they are a bit pricey. We buy from the city branch and from Chadstone shopping Centre. Buying online is good. They have good deals and shipping is free.

I store my beauty products like this:

If I run out of Kiehl’s ultra facial cream, I use either Clinique or La Roche Posay moisturizers. They are gentle to the skin too.

For those who have sensitive lips, try Clarins. A chemist recommended it to me. It is doesn’t make my lips dry. Because of my seafood allergy, I cannot use certain kinds of lipstick especially with seashell ingredients. This is good for sensitive lips. It stays longer and doesn’t feather. Feathering is when the lipstick runs into the creases or tiny lines around your lips making it look uneven.

I use MAC products for my eyes and lips. They are good.

I use these brands of lipsticks: NARS, MAC, Clarins, Chanel, Lancome and Clinique. I cannot find the other photos. Too much photos in my external hard drive. 🙂

Here is a tip for lipstick: Please check your lipsticks and throw them away if they have been opened for 2 years or more. Your lips will have dark pigmentation and you will have bad reactions if you continue using expired lipsticks. A tube of lipstick that’s been opened will last about two years. After that, you’ll notice the smell and texture of the lipstick will begin to change. It’s still safe to use, but it may not wear as well as it did when it was new.

In conclusion, I would like to say this. Beauty. Each woman is beautiful. We are the masterpieces of the Potter. We are created in His image and likeness. The beauty products are just there to enhance what is already beautiful. Let us devote more time in cultivating eternal beauty that radiates to others.

Celebrate your inner beauty. You are beautiful just the way you are.
