The Pizza Story

We had pizza tonight. Pizza is a very ordinary and very normal food in our house. It is because we have a kid who is a very fussy eater and he only wants certain food and pizza is one of them. But tonight… the 3 large pizza flavors with 2 bottles of coke (from their promo 3 +2) delivered by Pizza Hut at 7:02 PM from their expected delivery of 7:00 PM held a very special and significant meaning for us.

My sister-in-law celebrated a milestone birthday a few days ago. On top of that, she was successful in her application as a naturalized citizen in America. Those special moments were celebrated by all her family members around the world.

What is special with our pizza tonight? It is because it seems like the pizza travelled around 3 countries before it reached our house. One of my husband’s nephews in Canada provided the money for 12 family members. He requested his cousin to order for him. My husband’s niece who works in Singapore ordered the pizza from the Pizza Hut near us. I should be paid for advertising… hahaha.

The celebrant lives in America. The money is from Canada. The order was made in Singapore. The recipients are in Australia. How awesome is that! To this day, I am in awe of what technology can do. See what family love can do?

More than the food being paid from another country, ordered from another country and eaten by family members in another country, I admire my husband’s family.

Ever since I joined them nearly 30 years ago, their love for one another is evident through their words, through their actions and through their prayers. I am very impressed by their expressiveness. Continents, seas and countries hold no bounds for them when they want to show their love to one another. They are all very expressive of their love. I have seen that from their grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins and grandchildren. I like how they show their love without any inhibitions and restraints. It makes everyone in their family feel loved no matter if they are alone or with family members in any country in the world.

After we ate, we prayed for the celebrant, for the one who gave the shout (treat or blow-out), for all our family members and for all our friends around the world. May God bless and take care of all our needs in all areas of our life.

Your family is the masterpiece of God’s creation. Shelter it with love and care.
My prayer today is that God will bless each member of every family. May they all promote love, harmony and peace with one another. Amen.

Here are some photos of our special pizza night.
Thanks, Bong. Pogi ka na, mabait ka pa. #1 ka talaga, nakong.
