Australian Red Rooster Fried Chicken Ala Jollibee

There is a current craze about fried chicken being sold by Red Rooster, one of the fastfood outlets here. Those who tasted said it is better than KFC because it is not oily and it is still crispy even if you eat the day after.

For all Filipinos who are missing the Philippines and Jollibee’s iconic chicken joy, they swear that the RR’s fried chicken really taste like Jollibee’s chicken joy.

So my family and I went to the RR’s outlet where they sell this particular fried chicken. There are many Red Rooster outlets here but only selected outlets sell the fried chicken. Luckily, we are near one of the outlets selling these. My kids love Jollibee chicken joy so they are the tasters. They can differentiate the taste.

We ordered 20 pieces. And we had to eat at the restaurant so we can taste it as fresh as it can be. Take out (or take-away) and delivery are available options.

Anyway, this is what my family and I think about the RR fried chicken:

  • My oldest son said, “It is best to eat RR’s fried chicken with rice. Next time, we bring rice (they don’t serve rice in RR). The RR fried chicken really tastes better than KFC. It is not oily. It tastes like Jollibee but just Australian chicken. But I prefer the crunchy coated buttermilk wings than the fried chicken.”
  • My second son said, “I cannot really differentiate as I don’t eat chicken joy. I prefer eating the Jollibee burger. RR chicken tastes better than KFC, just salty.”
  • My third son said, “So yum! Can we buy again?” Hahaha… The boy in our family who is easily pleased when it comes to food. He loves food.
  • My husband said, “It is good. It is just more expensive.” “Naimas. Nangina lang.”
  • Me: “I prefer to eat Jollibee chicken joy back home. But for now, the RR can do.”

I am sharing you photos that speak for themselves. Since this first taste of RR’s fried chicken, we have been buying regularly and we have been recommending to friends who have been buying regularly too. So this means, RR’s fried chicken is that good.

Here are some photos to show how the Philippine Jollibee chicken joy look like.
